Newfoundland's weather can flip on a dime from a summer scorcher to a breezy cold snap. However, just five feet below the surface, the ground maintains a constant temperature year round. This constant earth temperature is higher than average winter temperatures, and lower than average summer temperatures.
In the winter, even an unheated basement stays relatively warm because of the consistent 55-degree insulation from the surrounding earth. Our geothermal systems take advantage of this and pulls the warm solution through the pipes and uses a heat pump, or in-floor heating to warm the air from your home.
The same principle works in reverse in the summertime when Enersmart's geothermal system uses the temperature of the ground to cool the air in your home. It doesn't matter if it's 20 degrees or a humid 30 degrees outside. Our systems makes it easy to stay comfortable at home.
For every 1 unit of energy used to power your geothermal system, 4 units of heat energy are supplied.
Geothermal can use several types of distribution systems for your home from forced air, radiant in-floor, or a hybrid system.
Your geothermal heat pump is able to preheat the water for your hot water tank, resulting in lower electricity burned.
Good for the planet (and your wallet). Home heating comes second only to cars when it comes to air pollution, and oil-burning furnaces consume more fossil fuels than diesel trucks.
Geothermal Systems are durable, and long-lasting. The 15+ year lifespan of our heat pumps and 50+ year lifespan of the ground loops ensure reliable cooling and heating for decades to come.
The geothermal configurations will be customized based on the size of your home and the land space available. We specialize in three loop field configurations.
